Tattoos typically have a deep personal meanings, but it’s not every day that people have the opportunity to get a tattoo that’s both meaningful and helps others.

During the month of April, Prismatic Ink Tattoos in Lebanon will be offering semicolon tattoos starting at $30, with $10 dollars from each tattoo donated to Compeer of Lebanon County to help raise suicide and PTSD awareness among the local active and veteran military community.

Why a semicolon? According to the late Amy Bleuel, the founder of Project Semicolon, it’s because “a semicolon is used when an author could’ve chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. The author is you and the sentence is your life.”

Project Semicolon is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the prevention of suicide, which it accomplishes through raising awareness, educating communities, and equipping people with the proper tools.

One of the organization’s primary means of raising suicide awareness is through supporters getting tattoos of semicolons.

Getting a semicolon tattoo will require a $10 deposit to schedule. To schedule an appoint call Prismatic Ink Tattoo at (717) 450-4471.
