Lebanon City Police are investigating a gun crime that was reported as having occurred this morning around 3am on the 00 block of N. Partridge Street.

Police were dispatched to a local medical facility at 4:04am on Sunday May 5 for a gunshot victim.

At the medical facility, a 28 year old North Lebanon Township told police that he had been shot approximately an hour prior to police being dispatched. The man said that he was walking on the 00 block of N. Partridge Street after leaving a nearby night club, alleging that he was approached by a masked assailant who demanded his belongings.

The man says that his refusal to hand over his belongings caused the alleged perpetrator to display a handgun, inciting a struggle that resulted in the discharge of the firearm into the man’s leg.

Police said the man’s wounds were not life threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Police responded to the area described by the man but did not locate any evidence consistent with his account. Police say they do not believe the man was randomly targeted.

An investigation is ongoing. Persons with knowledge of this incident are asked to call the Lebanon City Police Department at 717-272-2054 or Lebanon County Crime Stoppers at 717-270-9800.

An earlier version of this post briefly contained the last name of the alleged victim. We apologize for the error.
