The Lebanon City Council will vote Monday, Dec. 30, on the proposed purchase of the HACC Lebanon campus building at 735 Cumberland St.

The special council meeting was announced Thursday morning, Dec. 26.
The resolution to purchase HACC is described in the agenda as follows:
Authorizing the Mayor of the City of Lebanon to execute an Agreement of Sale with Harrisburg Area Community College for the purchase of property at 735 Cumberland Street, Lebanon
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, in the City Council Chambers, Room 210 of the Municipal Building.
No further information was available on the sale price or the specific uses intended for the building. LebTown has reached out to Mayor Sherry Capello for more information and we will update this post if anything is shared with us.
However, based on previous comments, it is likely that City Hall will be moved into the structure, with HACC continuing to occupy one of the upper floors. In March, Mayor Capello had shared a goal of moving City Hall downtown to increase foot traffic, police presence, and improve vibrancy in the downtown area.
In addition to voting on the HACC purchase, the council will also be voting to authorize a grant application to the Marcellus Shale Grant Fund for “the preparation of a feasibility study for recreational needs to determine the best use for the site upon demolition of the Lauther Memorial Water Complex at Coleman Park.”
The Lebanon City Council voted earlier this month to demolish the structure.
