Bethel Township
Fatal Accident – A Myerstown woman died in a two-car crash June 30 in Bethel Township.
According to police, the crash occurred at 1:08 p.m. at the intersection of South Pine Grove Street and Greble Road. A 2016 Ford C-Max driven by a 33-year-old East Earl man was traveling east on Greble Road, the report said, while a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 37-year-old Fredericksburg man was traveling south on South Pine Grove Street. The Ford, for an unknown reason, proceeded through the intersection without clearance and directly into the path of the oncoming Chevrolet.
After the impact, the Ford left the road and came to a rest on the east shoulder of South Pine Grove Street. Both the East Earl man and his passenger, Jennifer Ludwig, 37, of Myerstown, were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash but sustained serious injuries and were taken by Life Lion EMS to Hershey Medical Center for treatment. However, Ludwig succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead en route to the hospital.
The Fredericksburg man was also wearing his seatbelt and reported no injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing. Central Medical Ambulance, North Lebanon Fire Department, and Fredericksburg Fire Department assisted on the scene. Police cited the East Earl man with stop signs and yield signs.
Theft – At approximately 6:24 p.m. June 27, police were dispatched to the 100 block of North Mechanic Street for a theft of a boat motor. Police learned that an unknown actor(s) arrived at the victim’s residence between 3 p.m. June 26 and 2:30 p.m. June 27. While on the victim’s property, the actor(s) stole a black 25-horsepower Mercury boat motor, valued at $2,000, from the victim’s boat, which was parked in the back of the residence. Police conducted an area canvass with negative results. The victim was a 64-year-old Fredericksburg man. Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 4:56 a.m. June 23, a crash occurred on North Center Street, just east of Brown Lane, when the driver of a 2016 Volvo truck tractor attempted a U-turn and struck a stop sign and light post. Police also observed grass damage. Police cited the driver of the Volvo for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
DUI – At 11:12 p.m. June 18, a crash occurred on North Center Street, just west of its intersection with Brown Lane. A 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Douglas Brown, 59, of Fredericksburg, was traveling north on North Center Street, approaching a sharp right turn where North Center Street intersects with Brown Lane. Brown failed to negotiate the curve and exited the road. The Chevrolet then struck a light pole with its front bumper. The Chevrolet’s passenger’s side headlight then left the Chevrolet and struck a 2018 Kia Sportage in its driver’s side door, while it was legally parked. The Chevrolet sustained damage to its front bumper, headlights, and hood. The Kia sustained damage to its driver’s side door. Motter’s Towing towed the Chevrolet from the scene. Brown was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained an injury of unknown severity, and was transported via Life Lion EMS to the Hershey Medical Center. Police arrested Brown for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
City of Lebanon
Disorderly Conduct – Police cited an 18-year-old Harrisburg woman with disorderly conduct at 10:05 p.m. June 25 on the 200 block of Cumberland Street.
Drug Possession – Police cited Richard Hoofnagle, 46, with no permanent address, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident that occurred at 7:18 p.m. June 28 on the 400 block of North 4th Street. Hoofnagle was incarcerated at LCCF on Lebanon County bench warrants.
Issuance of a Dog License/Application for Dog License – Police cited a 63-year-old Lebanon woman with issuance of a dog license/application for a dog license at 4:10 p.m. June 24 at 8th and Mifflin streets.
Drug Possession – Police cited John Cintron, 44, of Lebanon, with possession of drug paraphernalia after contact with him at 9:35 p.m. June 3 on the 1200 block of Cumberland Street. Cintron was incarcerated at LCCF on Lebanon County bench warrants.
Drug Possession – Police cited a 52-year-old Lebanon man with possession of drug paraphernalia after contact with him at 3:27 a.m. June 25 at Clover and Hornet streets.
Cornwall Borough
Disorderly Conduct, Harassment – Police cited a 20-year-old Lebanon woman with disorderly conduct and harassment after an incident that occurred on June 19 on Cornwall Road.
Trespassing – Police cited an 18-year-old Morgantown woman, an 18-year-old Elizabethtown man, a 19-year-old Lititz woman, a 20-year-old Akron woman, a 23-year-old Denver woman, and five juveniles for trespassing after an incident that occurred on June 28 on a property along Rexmont Road.
Trespassing – Police cited an 18-year-old Lebanon woman, three 20-year-old Lebanon women, a 20-year-old Lebanon man, three 21-year-old Lebanon men, and a juvenile for trespassing after an incident that occurred on June 26 on a property along Boyd Street at the open pit. All areas by the water are no trespassing in this area.
East Hanover Township
Vehicle Accident – At 2:50 p.m. June 26, a single-farm-vehicle crash occurred on Webster School Road, just west of Bull Frog Road. A 2022 John Deere 612R was traveling west on Webster School Road and contacted with a low-hanging wire that was approximately nine feet off the ground. The John Deere pulled/stretched the wire and sheared a utility pole, bringing the wires and pole down. The John Deere’s occupant was not injured during the crash, and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
DUI – At 12:05 a.m. June 25, police arrested a 44-year-old Annville man for driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. This incident occurred on Allentown Boulevard and Bull Frog Road and involved a 2015 Dodge Neon.
Vehicle Accident – At 7:41 a.m. June 28, a crash occurred on Mountain Road at Park Drive. A 2022 Subaru Forester driven by an Elizabethtown man was traveling east on Mountain Road when a deer ran out into the road. The Subaru struck the deer and was disabled from the crash. The driver was wearing his seatbelt and sustained no injuries.
Jackson Township
Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 12:03 p.m. June 25, a single-vehicle crash occurred as a 2008 Honda CRV driven by a 62-year-old Pine Grove man was traveling north in the north lane of SR 501, also named North College Street. The man blacked out due to a suspected medical emergency, swerved off of the road, and hit the end of a guide rail. The Honda spun clockwise and continued hitting the guide rail. The man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained a suspected minor injury, and refused transport. Citations against the man for driving on roadways laned for traffic are pending investigation.
Indecent Assault – Police are investigating a ChildLine referral involving inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile that occurred on April 1 on Tulpehocken Road. The victim was a 2-year-old Steelton female.
Jonestown Borough
PFA Violation – Police responded to Twin Creeks Drive for a report of PFA violations that occurred between May 19 and June 14. Police determined that the arrestee sent the victim, a 31-year-old Fredericksburg woman, who had an active PFA, more than 110 unwanted and unanswered text messages. Charges were prepared and filed within MDJ 52-3-03. Police are investigating.
Millcreek Township
Criminal Mischief under $1,000 – At 12:57 a.m. June 29, police responded to West Main Street for a report of criminal mischief. Police determined that three juvenile actors kicked a wooden garage door, causing damage valued at $150. The victim was an 82-year-old Newmanstown man. Police are investigating.
Myerstown Borough
Theft – At 1:32 p.m. June 24, police responded to the 00 block of East Jefferson Avenue for a report of the theft of a catalytic converter from a 2001 Ford F250 Supercab, valued at $1,200. This theft occurred sometime between June 1 and 25. The victim was a 50-year-old Myerstown man.
Theft By Deception – At 6:02 p.m. May 24, police responded to East Carpenter Avenue for a report of two individuals claiming to be renting out the property. Police determined that the property was fraudulently listed on Facebook Marketplace and one of the individuals was scammed via Cash App. The victim was a 36-year-old Myerstown woman. Police are investigating.
Terroristic Threats – At 9:40 a.m. June 3, police responded to South Broad Street for a report of threats being sent from an unidentified person to the victim via Snapchat messages. The victim was a 20-year-old Myerstown woman. Police are investigating.
False Alarms – At 12:32 a.m. July 2, Truist Bank on West Lincoln Avenue caused or permitted four false alarms to occur in a consecutive 12-month period.
Vehicle Accident, Stop Signs and Yield Signs, Restraint Systems – At 1:34 p.m. June 30, a two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of East Main Avenue and South Railroad Street. A 2016 Toyota Highlander driven by a 30-year-old Lebanon woman, accompanied by a 2-year-old Lebanon male, a 7-year-old Lebanon male, and a 10-year-old Lebanon female, was traveling north on South Railroad Street, when it failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with East Main Avenue. The Toyota crossed onto East Main Avenue and struck a 1989 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 52-year-old Myerstown man, which was traveling east on East Main Avenue. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and sustained possible injuries. The Toyota’s juvenile occupants were either not using safety equipment or using safety equipment improperly at the time of the crash and sustained possible injuries. The Toyota’s occupants refused transport. The Myerstown man was not transported. Gilles Miller’s Towing Company towed the Toyota from the scene. The Chevrolet was driven from the scene. Police cited the Lebanon woman for stop signs and yield signs and restraint systems.
North Annville Township
Theft of Vehicle Parts – Sometime between 4:45 p.m. June 27 and 8:15 a.m. June 28, an actor(s) stole a catalytic converter from the victim’s 2022 Ford F450 on SR934 North. The victim was a 39-year-old Grantville man.
North Cornwall Township
Drug Possession – At 12:03 p.m. June 24, an incident occurred on Quentin Road at Summit Street. Police stopped a 21-year-old Lebanon woman for heavily tinted windows. Police arrested the woman for possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use and possession of marijuana.
Vehicle Accident – At 12:52 p.m. June 24, a crash occurred on West Crestview Drive at Heritage Lane. A vehicle driven by a 55-year-old Lebanon man was exiting the Plaza Apartments parking lot onto West Crestview Drive and mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the brake. This caused him to enter the roadway, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Lebanon woman who was traveling west. The 27-year-old Lebanon woman spun out of control and the front of her vehicle struck the driver’s side door area of a 51-year-old Lebanon woman, which was legally parked on the shoulder and unoccupied at the time. The Lebanon man complained of minor pain but refused EMS. The driver/only occupant, the 27-year-old Lebanon woman, complained of moderate pain and also refused EMS, relating she would seek treatment at urgent care.
Vehicle Accident – At 4:43 p.m. June 28, a crash occurred on 22nd and Chestnut streets. A vehicle driven by a 55-year-old Cleona man was traveling east on Chestnut Street when a 79-year-old Palmyra woman failed to stop at the stop sign at 22nd and Chestnut streets. The Palmyra woman proceeded up the hill and into the intersection, striking the driver’s side of the Cleona man’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed.
North Lebanon Township
Harassment – Police cited a 53-year-old man with harassment on June 25 after an incident in the 900 block of Miller Street.
Defiant Trespass – On June 25, police cited Zachary Rietz, 29, of Manheim, with defiant trespass after he refused an order to leave the Holiday Inn at 2205 E. Cumberland St.
Drug Possession – Police cited Brittany Sands, 32, of Lebanon, with possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on the 200 block of Gary Avenue on Feb. 20.
Possession of Controlled Substances By Person Not Registered – Police cited Cyrus Painter, 40, of Grantville, with possession of controlled substances by person not registered after a traffic stop on Sandhill Road on April 1.
DUI – At 7:23 p.m. May 18, police initiated a traffic stop on a 2010 Toyota Corolla on East Cumberland Street and Green Acres Trailer Court. The driver, a 58-year-old Myerstown man, displayed numerous indicators of impairment. Police took the driver into custody for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Police are investigating.
North Londonderry Township
DUI – At 9:59 p.m. May 9, police cited Tyler Rohrer, 27, of Palmyra, with two counts of driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance (DUI-general impairment and DUI-highest rate) after his vehicle was located disabled in the 300 block of Palmyra Bellegrove Road on May 9. His blood alcohol concentration was determined to be .283%.
Bench Warrant – At 2:06 p.m. June 23, police stopped Angela Timler, 48, of Elizabethtown, on Queen Street and Londonderry Boulevard for a traffic violation and determined she had a bench warrant out of Dauphin County for failing to appear. Police took Timler into custody and turned her over to sheriffs from Dauphin County.
Jewelry Scam – At 2 p.m. June 23, a 68-year-old Palmyra man was the victim of a jewelry scam, which occurred in the Walmart parking lot at 100 North Londonderry Square. A man in a vehicle (newer, gray, Honda CRV, possibly with Florida tags) approached the victim. A woman and a baby were also in the Honda. The man told the victim that they just arrived in the United States and did not have money to feed the baby. However, the man offered to sell jewelry to the victim. The victim paid $500 for two necklaces and a bracelet. The man (still in the driver’s seat) told the victim to lean in the car, and he would put the necklaces on him, which the victim did. As the man finished putting the necklaces on the victim, the victim noticed that the man removed two necklaces that the victim was wearing. The vehicle then sped away. The stolen necklaces were valued at $1,200. The man and the woman are described as dark-skinned, possibly of Eastern European or Indian descent.
Failure to License Dog, Township Ordinance – At 4:23 p.m. June 23, a dog owned by a 69-year-old Palmyra woman got loose in the area of Sweetwater Drive and Cottonwood Court. Police found the dog was not licensed and cited the woman for failing to license her dog and allowing her dog to run loose. Citations were filed through MDJ Garver’s office.
Palmyra Borough
Fraudulent Documents, Traffic Violations – At approximately 9:24 a.m. June 8, police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 700 block of West Main Street. Police identified the driver as Kade Schaffer. During the stop, police found Schaffer to have fraudulent inspection and emissions stickers on his vehicle. Police cited Schaffer with fraudulent documents and three summary traffic violations.
False Identification to Law Enforcement, Open Lewdness – At approximately 9:50 p.m. June 13, police initiated a traffic stop on a white Chrysler Town and Country for making an illegal left turn. During the stop, one of the passengers, identified as Eduardo Feliciano, 46, pulled down his pants and exposed his genitals to the police. When police asked Feliciano for identification, he lied several times, giving false names and dates of birth. Police later determined Feliciano’s identity. Police issued an arrest warrant for false identification to law enforcement and open lewdness. Bench Warrant – At approximately 3:30 a.m. June 28, police responded to the Cadillac Motel and arrested Damian Lawrence, 25, for a probation violation warrant. Police took Lawrence into custody without issue and transported him to Dauphin County Prison.
Bench Warrant – At approximately 6:15 a.m. June 28, police responded to the Cadillac Motel and arrested Sarah Serikstad, 26, for two probation violations out of Dauphin County. Police transported Serikstad to Lebanon County Central Booking.
Drug Possession, Driving without a License, Required Financial Responsibility – At approximately 12:23 a.m. Jan. 8, police conducted a traffic stop in the 00 block of North Duke Street. Police identified the driver as Jordin Kovarik, 30, who was found to have a suspended driver’s license out of New York. Police also recovered drug paraphernalia and marijuana. Charges were filed through MDJ Garver’s office on June 23 for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving without a license, registration and certificate of title required, required financial responsibility, and restriction on alcoholic beverage.
South Londonderry Township
Aircraft Accident – At 9:35 a.m. June 25, police responded to a reported airplane vs. auto accident with injuries. Police learned that Michael Long, 68, of Elizabethtown, the pilot of a 1946 Luscombe 8A aircraft, was attempting a landing at Reigle Airport, 1805 South Forge Road. As the airplane passed over South Forge Road, the landing gear struck a 2013 Volkswagen Passat driven by a 69-year-old Ono man, accompanied by a 66-year-old Ono woman, who were traveling north. The Luscombe came to rest approximately 100 feet west of the impact location. The Volkswagen’s roof and right rear and rear-most windows were damaged. The Luscombe’s landing gear and fuselage were damaged. No injuries were reported. Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company, First Aid and Safety Patrol Ambulance, and Campbelltown Fire Police also assisted on the scene. The Federal Aviation Administration will conduct an investigation.
Vehicle Accident – At 5:15 p.m. June 15, police responded to a two-vehicle crash at Horseshoe Pike and South Forge Road. Police determined that a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Lebanon juvenile had been traveling south on South Forge Road, intending to turn left at the intersection with Horseshoe Pike. A vehicle driven by a 52-year-old Elliotsburg man was traveling north on South Forge Road, intending to continue straight across Horseshoe Pike. The juvenile failed to yield the right-of-way and collided with the Elliotsburg man in the intersection. Both vehicles required towing. Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company also responded due to fluids on the road.
Swatara Township
Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 7:06 a.m. May 31, a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash occurred on SR 22 East, just east of its intersection with North Mill Street. A 2015 Chrysler 200 driven by a 60-year-old Fredericksburg man, accompanied by a 21-year-old Fredericksburg woman, was traveling in the left lane of SR 22 East and a vehicle of an unknown make and model, driven by an unknown person, was traveling in the right lane and began merging into the Chrysler’s travel lane. The driver’s side of the unknown vehicle struck the front passenger’s side of the Chrysler. The Chrysler sustained functional damage of dents and scrapes on its passenger’s side door, front rim, and fender. The unknown vehicle fled the scene and was unable to be located. The two Fredericksburg individuals were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and reported no injuries.
Unspecified Township
Checkpoint – Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Lebanon County prior to the conclusion of July. The checkpoint location will be chosen based on locations with a higher number of DUI violations/crashes.
