Irene C. Slade, 88, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, in her residence. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, G. Ronald Slade.

Born on a farm near Sonningdale, Saskatchewan, Canada on October 7, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Krowchenko) and Nicholas Martichenko. One of thirteen children, Irene loved life and meeting new people. After graduating from Briarcrest Bible Institute, Irene and Ron faithfully served in Christian ministry for 40 years throughout Canada and the United States. Irene enjoyed teaching children’s bible study groups, and spent summers working at Sunshine Acres (New York), a camp for unprivileged children, and was involved in numerous church activities. She was a member of First Baptist Church Lebanon.

Irene is survived by two daughters, Laurel D., wife of James Irwin, of South Lebanon, Lorraine D., widow of John D. Schneider, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; a son, Daniel R., husband of Gwen Slade, of St. Mary’s, Ontario, Canada; two sisters, Ruby Sailer and Diane Edie; two brothers, John Martinchenko and Laurence Martinchenko; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services and interment private at the convenience of the family.
