Julia N. Albert, 84, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at her daughter’s residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Kenneth L. Albert who passed away in 2000.

Born in Lebanon on April 17, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Sadie (Nicholas) Firestone.

Julia graduated from Lebanon High School with the class of 1956. She worked for 44 years at Hershey Chocolate Factory. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jonestown. Julia liked to crochet and made prayer shawls and lap robes. She was a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon for many years after retirement. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and called themselves The Klassie Lassie’s. She enjoyed line dancing with the Senior Citizens Club in Myerstown. She also enjoyed birdwatching, working in her flower beds, and bowling. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson.

She is survived by her daughters Debbie Pappas of Fredericksburg and Linda Grodzinski of North Lebanon Township; grandchildren, Danielle Pappas, Matthew, and Ethan Grodzinski, Sarah Brashear, and great-grandson Wesley Brashear; sisters Christy Evans, Susan Gipe, and Linda McGuire all of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter. Kathy Albert and eight brothers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home and Crematory, Rt. 72 and Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown. Viewing will be 1 hour prior to service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Grantville.
