LeRoy Stephen Deckert, 88, of Lebanon passed away at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Anna Mae (Heisey) Deckert, with whom he celebrated 65 years in marriage.

LeRoy was born in Meckville, Lebanon County, on January 1, 1934, to the late Homer and Myrtle (Small) Deckert.

He was a forklift operator for Hershey Foods for 35 years. He was a member of South Lebanon Community Church, formerly Midway Church of the Brethren, where he was an usher for 35 years, on the cemetery board, Board of Education, and played harmonica. LeRoy was involved with Habitat for Humanity for 10 years and was a Meals on Wheels volunteer. He enjoyed woodworking and doing latch hook rugs.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children, Sharon L. Zimmerman (Warren) of Lebanon, Michael S. Deckert of Lebanon, grandchildren, Jason Zimmerman, Tara Zimmerman, Aaron Deckert, Shannon Deckert, and his siblings, Ralph Deckert of Lebanon, and Betty Deckert of Myerstown.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Homer, Jr., Harvey, Charles, James, Richard, Joe, Earl, and Pauline.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 11 AM from South Lebanon Community Church, 13 Evergreen Road, Lebanon. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Iona. There will be a viewing from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church.
