Patricia A. “Pat” (nee Ryland) Shott, 84, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, at her residence. She was the wife of Michael E. Shott, with whom she celebrated 45 years in marriage.

Pat was born in Lebanon on Aug. 4, 1937, to the late Albanus and Marian (Haas) Ryland.

She was a 1955 S. Lebanon High School graduate and worked as a manager in retail at Boscov’s Department Store. She was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church and Cornwall United Methodist Church.

Pat’s first love was her family. Her happiest times were those spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether it was a game of croquet, dancing at the annual family farm hoedown, or enjoying a delicious holiday dinner, good times were had by all.

She will be remembered fondly by her welcoming smile, her ready laugh, and her bold spirit. She always embraced new adventures and loved to travel. Pat treasured music, the arts, swims at the beach, and sunsets.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Michael D. Dissinger (Susan), of Lake Mary, FL; step-son, Michael E. Keller (Barbara), of Mt. Gretna; step-daughter, Karen Root (Kenneth), of Ijamsville, MD; four grandchildren, Laura Kayrouz (Bobby), of Cranston, RI, Sarah Kauffman (Steve), of Lebanon, and Alison and Jennifer Root, of Ijamsville, MD; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Matthew Kauffman, of Lebanon; and siblings, Marian Batz, of Lebanon, Albanus Ryland (Cecile), of Hampton, NJ, and Charles Ryland, of Lebanon.

She was predeceased by her sister, Doris Batturs.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at Hebron United Methodist Church, 451 E. Walnut St., Lebanon. Inurnment will be at Schaefferstown Cemetery. There will be a visitation with the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
