Ralph H. Houtz, 89, of Lebanon passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Dorothy L. Bennett.

Born in Lebanon on September 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Ralph C. and Sylvia Baum Houtz. He retired from Bethlehem Steel, where he had been a crane operator. He was a member of the Fredericksburg American Legion, and the Silent City Stockers Car Club. He enjoyed mowing grass, working on and displaying his model cars, and he especially enjoyed driving his 1978 Chevy C-10 pickup. Ralph served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was proud of the fact that he was a mechanic and had worked on Enola Gay.

He is survived by his sons, Ralph J. husband of Ella Houtz, of Bethel, Michael D. husband of Kristi Houtz, of Jonestown, and Robert B. husband of Tammy Houtz, of Lickdale; daughters Linda L. wife of Wesley Brown, of MO, and Laura L. wife of Robert Schucker, of Lebanon; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and his sidekick, Bowtie. He was preceded in death by his sister Irene LeGay.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
