Regina Growden of The Villages, Florida (79) passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

She was born March 12, 1943, in Alphen a/d Ryn, The Netherlands, and was the daughter of Arnold and Harmanna Leupen of Beltsville, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse W. Growden, the love of her life.

Regina was a warm-hearted person who enjoyed gathering with friends and family for birthdays and holidays. She liked to bake and everyone enjoyed the delicious cheesecakes she would make. Regina had a talent for sewing and needlework, creating many beautiful counted cross stitch pieces, some being award winners at state fairs.

She was sentimental by nature and held a nostalgic affection for the 1950s and 60s. She loved muscle cars, motorcycles, early rock and roll, and the color red. In winter, Regina often wore a red hat – you knew when she had arrived!

Regina is survived by her brother Bob Leupen (Pam); four sisters: Johanna Leupen; Cookie Reese (Bill); Ann Ward (Peter) and Tina Drennan (Jeff). She is also survived by four nephews: Randy (Melissa), David (Cheryl), B.B. ( Lisa), and Wes Leupen.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers John, Jack, and Dick.

A celebration of life will be held later this year.
