Walter E. Ruhl, 74, of Myerstown, died on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at his residence. He was the husband of Lorraine D (Labe) Ruhl, who died on June 17, 2017.

Born in Lancaster County, PA on May 13, 1947, he was a son of the late Lester, Sr. and Marie (Firestone) Ruhl.

Walter was employed as a group leader at Lebanon Seaboard, Lebanon, for 24 years. He enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, riding his scooter, mowing grass, and spending time with his family.

Walter is survived by his daughters, Jody Perotta, of Myerstown, Sharon Kuhn, of Myerstown, and Julie, wife of Steve Kirby, Sr., of Myerstown; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Sheila Kendrick, Sherry Vance, Kim Kirby, and Deb Barto; stepsons, Eric and Frank Kirby; sister, Erma, wife of Leroy Howe, Sr., of Ephrata; half-brother, Leslie Jo, husband of Marie; and a sister-in-law, Deb Ruhl, of Pottsville.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Richard and Glenn Ruhl; stepson, Kirk Kirby; brother, Lester Ruhl, Jr.; and a half-brother, Harold Firestone.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a viewing beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
