“Our goal with the Grandmother of the Year award is to recognize the valuable resource grandparents, in general, are to families. They have so many stories and experiences from their own lives to share and also offer a link to a child’s cultural heritage and family history. My family’s grandmothers were very important in our personal successes” said WEPA founder Rafael Torres.

WEPA Empowerment Center Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization to be established in the city of Lebanon and will work in collaboration with regional community partners and businesses in order to address barriers experienced by families on a daily basis.
